Tulsa, Church on the Move, and more...

Well.. I must say how y'all doing?  It's been a while since I've blogged!  Many have asked how are things going here?  So I decided to hit a few points in this blog!

1.  Tulsa, Loving it here.. Weather is almost like Louisiana without as much humidity!  Not looking forward to the winter months here!

2.  My Apartment, It's really awesome!  It is right in the middle of everything.  (Even walking distance to Krispy Kreme) Mom helped me get settled in and decorated everything to feel just like home!

3.  Church on the Move, Every time I'm here I can't help but say WOW!  Weather I am in Kids on the Move or the main service it's crazy awesome...  I find myself thinking this is so amazing, I get the chance to be here, I am part of this!  If you have never been, GET HERE NOW!  HA!

4.  Kids on the Move, It would be safe to say I think this is the greatest Children's Ministry ever!  I love it, I couldn't imagine being anywhere else right now.  So much work goes into each service, and it really shows!  I work with some pretty awesome people and have made some great friends!

5.  Things I miss about Louisiana.. Family, Friends, Sweet Tea, Fried Pickles, Miranda Weed, My little Hadley, and my FTC Family!  FYI:  Louisiana has the best food ever, Tulsa needs to take cooking lessons;)  LOL!

6.  I will be home in one week!!  I cannot wait to see you all!

Well that's it for now, I will try to blog more to keep you up to date!  Miss you all so much!  Thanks for all the messages, calls, tweets, and lastly prayers!

P.S. Some of you have asked about ideas for Kids Ministry, I would say check out seeds.churchonthemove.com  //  I used this awesome site when I was in Louisiana and so much of the stuff is on there!!  If you have a question leave a comment there, they could probably answer it way better than I can!

Be Blessed,
Taylor Bennett

The Big Easy

A Cool Little Park I went by in the middle of the city:)
Beautiful and Relaxing!

New Orleans:)  The Heart of Louisiana!  Every time I go to this city I love it more!
From the Jazz being played on the streets, the cajun food, to the local artist lining the square.  I went to New Orleans two weeks ago for the Jesse Duplantis Visionary Leadership Conference.  We went down with our staff, so the trip was far from boring.  I wanted to see something different this time in the Big Easy.  Love the French Quarter, but it's pretty much the same thing everytime I go.  However this time they were having the French Quarter Festival.  The streets were lined with beautiful paintings from local artist, so that was fun to be inspired.  My first stop in The Big East was at Landry's.  I wasn't in the city but for ten minutes and had already landed some New Orleans cuisine.

Fried Green Tomatos topped with Crawfish Etouffee:)

Easter:)

Yes.. Spring is in the air!!  Everyone is excited for the warm weather, sunshine, flowers blooming (Not so much the pollen), and last but not least EASTER!!  Easter fell late this year, which is a good thing in my eyes because it gives us more time to plan for all the Easter Festivities.  This year we are planning our first Easter Eggstravangza!!!  We decided to do it the weekend before Easter on April, 16, 2011!  I wanted it to be more than just a egg hunt for our kids, I wanted it to be a Family Community Ourtreach.  We have a huge egg hunt planned but also have many games planned for families and all kinds of prizes and sweets:)  We live in a community that has a park really close by so I thought why not... The park is always full of people and everyone loves a good egg hunt!  I have partnered with our Youth Pastors and our Outreach team to make this a huge event!!  We have started advertising on our website, facebook, and the local radio station!  We want to connect with families and buld relationships.  There is still so much planning to be done.. (So why am I sitting here blogging?)  HAH!!  Anyways I would love to hear what you guys have planned for Easter Events..  Or have any tips to make our event better?  Please Share:)  HAPPY SPRING EVERYONE!!!

Children's Ministry

So anyone who knows me knows my passion is Children's Ministry!  As I sat in service last night I couldn't help byt think (Since the service was geared to our next generation) how can I reach more kids?  How can I effect the next generation?  I prayed and asked God to show me his will.. Sometimes just having an awesome childrens minsitry on Sunday Mornings isn't enough!  We put so much work in to that one service (Which we should) but I want to reach those kids that don't reach the doors of the church.. I want to share Jesus with them and let them know that God has a BIGGER PLAN and wants to be their BEST FRIEND!!  Any thoughts?
